Look at Your Finances Differently

Your finances are influential in many avenues in your life. There have been studies done to link better financial decision–making to better behavior. If your bank account is happy your outlook may be a little brighter as well. Use these suggestions to look at your finances in a new way.

Create a vision board. A vision board is a collage of images and words representing a person’s wishes or goals, intended to serve as inspiration or motivation. Crafting a vision board can help you realize your goals for the future. When you know your goals, it can be easier to map a path to success.

Make small goals. Now that you have realized your big goals set smaller goals. Studies have shown that if you set small goals that can be accomplished you will be inspired to keep working for the goals that take longer to accomplish.

Make a date. Try to calculate how long it might take to accomplish your goal and give it a date to work toward. With a deadline you are less likely to procrastinate and feel more motivated when putting in the work.

A form of self–love. It may sound corny but paying off debts or saving for a trip are ways to value yourself.

Learn to Savor. It is important to learn to value what you have rather than trying to find happiness by acquiring more things. It is nice to have the newest version of your phone but the money you spent could have been applied to your goals.
